Every great fashion project starts with an excellent idea, and every successful leader has to have a strong vision and the capability to make those around them believe in the plan. That’s how it started with Fashinnovation 4 years ago, and I read about the concept and believed in the mission from the get-go.
At the time I had spent the past 3 years reporting from the red carpet and asking celebrities about their chosen outfit and the inspiration behind their style. It all started to seem a little stale, and I was missing something and needed to feel inspired. In the background, I had started researching conscious consumerism and was thinking a lot more about what I could do as an individual in the entertainment industry to make an impact and create awareness around this space.
I came across an event called, Fashinnnovation; a platform dedicated to sustainability, innovation, and technology. The blend of all three caught my attention and I wanted in. I hosted the red carpet several times in NYC and saw the platform grow each time. The brand’s ethos was built around community and education, and I was so impressed with how it was evolving.
Four years on, post-pandemic and three virtual blue carpets later- hosting events from my living room and interviewing the likes of Michale Kors and Rachel Zoe, I have now been fortunate enough to have been asked to appear as a guest for a Fireside Chat. I was thrilled and honoured to be interviewed by the Sustainability Contributor for Vogue Brazil, Fernanda Simone.
