Hey there, fashion-forward friends! Can you feel it? The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer, and the flowers are starting to bloom. You know what that means? It's time to revamp our wardrobes. Now that we are concretely into the season, we can embrace all the fabulous spring trends that are bursting onto the scene, like colourful blossoms in a garden.

So, grab your sunglasses and let's dive into the hottest trends of the season so far!

Leopard Print Luxury

Say goodbye to winter's dreary hues, and hello to a print paradise! Prints of all types are taking centre stage this spring, but leopard print is by far our favourite. Whether you're rocking a gorgeous fluffy coat on those chillier days of April, a flowy skirt, or a pair of leopard-spotted trousers, you'll be radiating all the cool girl vibes this springtime. The best part is that these prints are so easy to find secondhand. Thank you, beautiful women of the 90s. This style is best seen with bright reds and blues; the bright spring colours are ready to be put to good use this season.

Floral Frenzy

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. But seriously, folks, you can't go wrong with a classic floral print during this time of year. From dainty daisies to bold botanicals, floral patterns are blooming everywhere you look. However, there is a slight twist, florals are being seen everywhere as texture, in blouses, skirts, shoes, you name it. Try and spot the minimalist textures when out looking for your newest pre-loved find and I guarantee it will be found. If maximalism is more your thing, don’t worry; the classic floral spring dresses have gone nowhere. Mix and match different prints for a fun and eclectic look, or go all out with a head-to-toe floral ensemble. After all, why stop and smell the roses when you can wear them?

Striped Button-ups

2023 saw the rise and fall of button-ups, but they are back with a fighting force this spring with a striped effect. This piece can be easily styled down or up for days when you're going straight from running errands to the bar with friends. This is also a great way to incorporate that gorgeous spring colour we all love into your wardrobe without overwhelming yourself or your style. Whether it be red, blue or yellow, these beautiful button-ups are the way to go this spring. Not to mention the changes for pattern mixing, we are so excited to see what everyone does with these patterns!

Colour, colour, colour!

After the past couple of years of neutrals and pops of colour being the reigning style, it is so good to see colourful maximalism have its day in the sun. This season, you get to be your own pop of colour. Try mixing and matching what you have in your wardrobe, or if you need a bit more time to settle into this, try looking for some pre-loved trainers that add that extra bit of colour to your life, as trainers are also hopping onto this trend. This spring is the season of pink, blue, and green trainers, wherever the eye can see. If you are not 100% on colour matching but love the idea of a more creative maximalist style, check out our blog, ‘Colour Match, not Colour Clash’, for some inspiration.

Ballet Flat Brilliance

The ballet flat has stayed true and strong this spring, as it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere this season. This trend is a great way to step into spring without having to do much at all. Most of us have a pair of ballet flats in the back of our wardrobe from the early 2010s, so let's brush off the dusk and bring them back into your rotation. Still worried about not fitting the aesthetics? No worries, pair these with either jeans and a pair of colourful, funky socks, or try out some more lacy socks and a long skirt for that more feminine touch. Let’s step into April on the right foot in some sensational shoes.

Sustainable Style

Last but certainly not least, sustainable fashion continues to be a major trend this spring (and every season, really). From eco-friendly fabrics to ethically made clothing, more and more brands are prioritising sustainability and social responsibility. So, whether you're shopping vintage, supporting local artisans, or investing in pieces that will last a lifetime, you can feel good about looking good. Not to mention that at Secondhand Styling, we always have new and fresh pieces coming in, many of which match current trends and styles, so why not take a look and see what you can find to fit your forever wardrobe?

Well, there you have it - a whirlwind tour of the hottest spring trends to elevate your wardrobe and your mood. So, go ahead, embrace the season of renewal, and let your style blossom like never before. After all, life's too short to wear boring clothes!

Happy spring!
