Discover the best ways to ease into Autumn with our secondhand styling guide. Whether you are sourcing pre-loved clothing to piece together a relaxed glamour look or perhaps accessories to achieve the perfect Boho seasonal moment, we have you covered!

Scarlet Red

Red will be the colour of Autumn and winter 2023, it is all over the runway and we love it! It’s powerful, bright, bold, and looks great on almost everyone. These bright reds are usually more of a Christmas thing; why wait to make a statement? Start styling red and see how it can be a perfect go-to all season. Cherry red is a shade to look out for if you want to change your red mx! We have seen it manifesting itself into boots and jackets galore. It is a must-have this season.

Off the shoulder

Some things will never truly go out of style, which is the case for off-the-shoulder silhouettes. They are flattering, elegant, and feminine. The off-the-shoulder look was everywhere on the runway, so we can’t wait to start seeing this so much more. Not only is it a great basic to have in your wardrobe, but it can also be dressed up and down, both in top and dress form. It upgrades any outfit, whether full off the shoulder or only one shoulder. These silhouettes are chic, and we hope they stick around.

Olive Green

Green is not going anywhere! Although we may still see some of the sage green trickling through, it is all about the olive greens this autumn. We love these shades because they are versatile and add much more to an outfit than black and brown. The olive green trend is working its way through coats; however, try incorporating small details into your outfit to add interest. Try a green bag or scarf you have stuffed at the back of the coat cupboard. It adds color and complements so many outfits; whether it's blue, brown, or pink, green will still look incredible, a simple way to brighten up the dull weather.

Oversized Jumpers

The Grandpa cardigan is back! Although crew-neck jumpers and hoodies have been the go-to for a couple of years, the cardigan is starting to return to the mainstream. The beauty of these knitted cardigans is that they can be dressed both up and down. By pairing with heels and jeans, you have a very chic, classy look; with boots, it starts to get more casual while still keeping stylish. An oversized knitted jumper is also great for these more oversized looks, and not to mention, they keep you very warm. What can we say? We are in love. By using accessories with these items, you can pull an outfit together.

Long Trench Coats

Last but not least we have long trench coats. Long coats have been worn for a couple of years, but this year we will start to see them coming more into the mainstream, kicking out the puffer jackets of last year to be replaced by thick woollen coats. We love a long coat here at Secondhand Styling and cannot wait to have more excuses to wear ours everywhere we go. It's like wearing a socially acceptable blanket! We have seen some in this list such as the colours of cherry red and olive green, however, basics will be very popular all the same, as black and brown are great to pair with every outfit throughout the colder seasons.
